If the table appears out of the screen when expanding columns - you'll see pins that will allow you to "pin" selected columns to the table. You can click on the pin icon next to the column to do so.

If you pin any column or columns with a pin, they will remain stationary while you move the table from left to right:

Pins will only appear when there are 6 or more columns in the table!

After clicking on the pin next to a given column (i.e. pinning it), it will not be possible to expand or narrow it until the pin is unpinned.
