Application sources tracking in TRAFFIT

Good news! You don't have to generate a separate application form for every source to track their efficiency! TRAFFIT recognizes the referring link and tracks the source of every application.

TRAFFIT job posting

When posting jobs directly from TRAFFIT, a dedicated parameter is added to every publication to recognize the source:

Job boards

When posting your jobs to the job boards directly from TRAFFIT, the name of the job board is added, and applications from those are labeled with the following sources:

  • Pracuj.pl

  • OLX

  • etc.

Job search engines

If integration with job search engines is enabled and redirects candidates to the job details on your career page, the applications from this source are labeled as follows:

  • Indeed

  • Jooble

  • Talent.com

If you enabled Indeed Apply, allowing your candidates to apply directly on Indeed (using their Indeed account, skipping your application form) - the applications are labeled with a separate source called Indeed Apply.

Career page - you can post jobs on your career page - also the one created in TRAFFIT Career page generator. All the applications acquired through your career page have career_page assigned as the application source.

Please note that for the purpose of better analysis, the same application sources have been merged.

For example, the following sources, that may have appeared in your system in the past:

are now merged into one source: facebook.com

Thanks to that, the efficiency analysis of particular application sources is much easier.

External sources

You can post jobs from TRAFFIT on social media - the applications from this source will be labeled with the name of the portal, like:

  • Facebook.com

  • Linkedin.com

  • etc.

If you decide to copy and paste the application form link to a website or job board that is not integrated directly with TRAFFIT, we are still able to recognize the source and put the address of the website as the application source.

For example, if you collect applications from https://justjoin.it/ - they are labeled with justjoin.it as the source of the application.

Other sources

Other application sources that may appear in the details of your applicants are:

Import - you can assign this source when importing candidates to the system and assigning them to a specific job from a CSV file using our importing feature

Migration - if the candidate was migrated from your previous ATS

API - if the candidate was assigned to the job using API, e.g. from a different tool or using Zapier

Talent pool - if a candidate was assigned to the job by the user from the existing talent pool

Added manually - if a candidate was manually added to the system and assigned to the job by the user

huntoo - for recommended candidates, acquired when posting jobs on huntoo referral platform

Candidates added to jobs using our sourcing plugin will be labeled with linkedin.com (extension) as the application source.

What happens if the candidates have multiple application sources?

1. UTM parameters - if you add them to the link you share, they will always have priority and will be presented on the candidate's profile and included in reports.

2. If no UTM's were added, we set up the application source based on the referrer from the candidate's browser. The referrer is set as a domain, like linkedin.com. If the application was submitted on the career page created in TRAFFIT Career page generator, you would see "career_page" as the application source (even if there was a referrer recognized)

3. Source added by TRAFFIT when posting the job from the system - if there was no referrer. That includes:

  • job boards and job search engines integrated with TRAFFIT, like indeed.com

  • jobs published from TRAFFIT on your career page - in this case, candidates will have "career_page" assigned as the source of their application.

4. If none of the above was found, you will see Direct as the application's source.

What does Direct source mean?

You can notice some candidates with Direct application sources. This can happen in multiple cases, for example:

  • when the link to the application form was passed to the candidate directly, without a referring link (for example, via e-mail or Slack),

  • when the candidate is using anty-spy software (browsers/plugins),

  • when the candidate blocks sharing such information in his browser,

  • when the applying candidate is using incognito mode in his browser or Safari on iPhone (as it is often clearing the referer header).

I need more than just application sources

If you need more detailed information about candidates' application sources, add UTM (Urchin Tracking Module) codes to the job posts and application forms generated in TRAFFIT.

Those will be visible in the quick preview of a candidate in job and in Application sources report:

Where can I check the application sources efficiency?

You have acquired some nice applications, and now you want to track the application sources' efficiency? You have a dedicated report in your TRAFFIT for that!

Visit New reports (BETA) tab and click Generate button on Application sources report:

You can browse a full analysis of your application sources' performance.

Check Application source or UTM perspective (if you are using UTM parameters):
